Game Recap: Fever Dominate The Las Vegas Aces
The Indiana Fever surged to an impressive 81–54 win over the Las Vegas Aces, marking a solid bounce back performance even with Caitlin Clark sidelined once again due to her groin injury. This victory improves Indiana to 9–8, while the Aces fall just below .500 at 8–9.
The outcome was never in doubt with the Fever up by 7 after the first quarter and 22 by half while never looking back. Meanwhile, Indiana put on a clinic, especially on defense with the Fever leaning on a balanced attack. Kelsey Mitchell led the way for Indiana with 25 points while receiving support in the way of Aliyah Boston's 20, Natasha Howard's 11, Aari McDonald's 8, and Lexie Hull's 7.
Unfortunately for the Aces it was only A’ja Wilson who showed up, dropping 29 of the team’s 54 points, a heroic individual effort, yet woefully unsupported by her teammates as no one else scored more than 6 points. The Aces now sitting tied for the final playoff spot almost half way through the season know they must reinvigorate their bench if they want a chance at getting back to the postseason tournament. Will the WNBA All Star break be what they need to snap back into their past seasons' success? With 5 games to go until then time will only tell.
