Las Vegas Falls in Utah: Golden Knights Drop Road Game 5–1 to the Mammoth
The Las Vegas Golden Knights hit the road tonight looking to stack another win, but the Utah Mammoth had other plans, and they weren’t exactly polite hosts.
Vegas struggled to generate rhythm from the jump, and Utah made them pay with a relentless forecheck and a pair of first period goals that tilted the ice. The Knights had flashes in the second as they cut the deficit to one, but nothing that fully cracked Utah’s structure.
The third-period saw the Mammoth control the remainder of the game as the took the difference to 4 with two empty net goals to end the game. Final score: Utah Mammoth 5, Vegas Golden Knights 1.
Next Up: Wednesday Night at Home vs. the Senators
The good news? Vegas doesn’t have long to stew on this one.
They’re back on home ice Wednesday night hosting the Ottawa Senators, which will be a perfect chance to hit the reset button and feed off that T-Mobile Arena energy as they currently sit 4th in the Pacific Division. But, Ottawa currently sits 3rd in the Atlantic Division, and they’ve got enough talent to punch if you give them space.
With the home crowd behind them, expect a more electric Knights performance as they have produced points in 8 of their 11 home games so far this season, making it a prime opportunity to put this Utah loss in the rearview mirror.
