Golden Knights Roll in Utah: Vegas Tops Mammoth 4–1
The Vegas Golden Knights took care of business on the road last night, cruising to a confident 4–1 win over the Mammoth in Utah and looking every bit like a team heating up at the right time.
After going into the first intermission tied at 0, Vegas set the tone early in the second period with sharp puck movement, active sticks, and sustained pressure that kept the Mammoth on their heels. The Golden Knights’ forecheck was buzzing, their defensive structure held strong, and the goaltending shut down Utah only allowing one to squeak past in the second that still left them with the lead.
Offensively, Jack Eichel led Vegas as he put up 2 goals and one assist, while Braeden Bowman also had a multipoint night with one goal and one assist. Whether it was cycling in the corners or pushing transition chances, the Knights looked fast, connected, and fully in rhythm.
Next Up: Saturday Night Showdown at the Ducks
The Golden Knights now shift their focus to Saturday’s matchup on the road against the Anaheim Ducks, a divisional opponent eager to slow down Vegas’ surge.
Anaheim has been scrappy this season, as they currently are the Pacific Division leaders with 27 points while Las Vegas sits in second with 26 points. Expect a fast paced game as both teams look to show dominance in the second game of the season series. With game one being earlier this month where the Ducks were able to take home the win in OT.
With Vegas trending upward and looking sharper each game, Saturday becomes a good measuring stick for both teams. Take care of the Ducks, and the Knights will take the division lead while continuing to stack confidence, while a win for Anaheim would seal the season series and keep them atop the Pacific.
