Las Vegas Aces Bounce Back vs Mercury to Even at 8–8

The Las Vegas Aces secured a needed 84–81 win over the Phoenix Mercury, evening their record at 8–8. The Aces couldn't find their groove early though, as they were outpaced by Phoenix 15-21 in the opening quarter. A'ja Wilson dropped 26 points and grabbed 18 boards, while Aaliyah Nye added 16 points and Jackie Young chipped in 15. The win also showcased improved belief that the team can turn things around from their early season struggles. With momentum back on their side, Vegas aims to build consistency as the second half of the season nears.

A’ja Wilson Shatters Scoring Record

A’ja Wilson having already made WNBA history by becoming the fastest player ever to reach 5,000 career points earlier this month, achieved the milestone in just 238 games—capping the previous record set by Breanna Stewart in 242.

Looking Ahead: Thursday Showdown @ Fever

Next up, the Aces face the Indiana Fever on Thursday in Indiana. The Fever also sit at 8-8 and has been led by Kelsey Mitchell in points and Aliyah Boston in rebounds and assists while star Caitlin Clark has missed multiple games so far this year. The Aces will look to their own star in Wilson and their improved bench to outmatch the Fever's strong scheme. It’s a key opportunity to build on their .500 record and stake their claim in the competitive West.
