The Las Vegas Aces Stumble In Indiana Even Without Clark
The Las Vegas Aces took a 80–70 loss to the Indiana Fever tonight on the road. Star Caitlin Clark was sidelined with a groin injury for a yet another game and the medical staff has still not listed a timetable for her return.
A’ja Wilson produced 20 points, Jackie Young managed 19 points of her own, while the bench basically didn't need to show up as they only produced 4 points in the loss.
Meanwhile, Aliyah Boston (13 pts, 10 reb), Kelsey Mitchell (21 pts), and the rest of the Fever starts took over, but their bench should have just stayed home as well since they only put up the same 4 points. The Aces fell to 12–12, while the Fever improved to 13–12.
Vegas now has serious questions about roster structure, effort, and their ability to support Wilson with consistent supplemental scoring. As the season hurtles toward the trade deadline (8/7), they are far from being a championship contender at this point.
Quick Turnaround: Aces Travel To Face Lynx Tomorrow
After tonight’s third quarter collapse (outscored by 12), the Aces head straight to Minnesota to face the Lynx tomorrow. It’s a tough spot: no rest, no home crowd, and a buzzing Lynx squad leading the league in wins by a sizeable amount.
Expect all hands on deck from Wilson, Young, Gray, and Loyd—they’ll need to bring life and firing on all cylinders against a hungry roster.
Adjustments will be essential if Vegas hopes to shake off this loss quickly.
