Las Vegas Aces Fall Again

The Las Vegas Aces stumbled again in their 5th Commissioner's Cup game, suffering a hard-fought 76-70 defeat to the Phoenix Mercury. This is their third loss in the Cup games leaving them sitting on the outside to move on. Their record now sits at 2-3 in Cup games while the season also falls to a lowly 5-5. A'ja Wilson had to sit out a second consecutive game while in concussion protocol, but instead of the last place team from a season ago they had to face the Mercury this game, and it showed why the 3 time MVP is such a key part of their team. Chelsea Gray was able to show out with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Jewell Loyd and Jackie Young contributed 17 and 15 points respectfully.

The Mercury on the other hand saw 4 players go for double digit points including Satou Sabally's 22, Sami Whitcomb's 18, Alyssa Thomas' 14, and Kahleah Copper's 11. The Aces, will look to put this in the past as they head to Minnesota next for their final scheduled Commissioner's Cup game of the season.

Looking Ahead Another Cup Game vs Lynx

Las Vegas now will try to bounce back on Tuesday when they head to face the Minnesota Lynx on the road. The Lynx enter at a strong 10–1 overall and 4-1 in Cup play, led by Napheesa Collier, who averages 26.1 PPG and 8.8 RPG.

The Aces hope for a return of star A'ja Wilson while coach Becky Hammon will need tactical adjustments to stop Minnesota’s momentum and get back on course to a successful season.
