Las Vegas Golden Knights Edge Rangers 3–2 in Overtime Thriller at MSG

The Las Vegas Golden Knights went into Madison Square Garden looking for another statement win on this tough road stretch and they walked out with exactly that. Vegas topped the New York Rangers 3–2 in overtime today, earning a hard-fought victory in one of the NHL’s most electric atmospheres.

The Knights came out hot from the start and scored in under a minute and from there on continued to push the pace. After giving up two goals in the second they came back with a last minute goal of their own in the third to send it to overtime. Then again in the last minute of OT Jack Eichel generated the game clincher.

Carter Hart was sharp in net, turning away key chances to keep Vegas steady enough to cap off a clutch performance and secured the valuable two points.

This win makes it back to back impressive results on the road and a unbeaten December so far at 3-0, giving the Golden Knights major momentum heading deeper into this trip.

The Knights will stay parked in New York a little longer as they gear up for Tuesday’s matchup against the Islanders, game three of their five game road swing.

The Islanders present their own challenges thanks to their defensive efforts that can grind games down to low event battles. Vegas will need to stay disciplined, especially through the neutral zone, and continue riding their chemistry to break through New York’s tight system.
