Growing QB Injury Toll: Broken Bones Already This Season
As the NFL Week 13 wrapped, the league’s mounting starting quarterback broken bone list is starting to look like a who’s-who of stars and it’s already shaping outcomes:
Aaron Rodgers missed Week 12 and again was hit in his broken left wrist in Week 13 which was severe enough to make him sit out a series.
Daniel Jones suffered a broken fibula earlier this season but has continued to play through it while his team has lost 3 of their last 4 games.
Justin Herbert now joins the club, dealing with a fresh broken bone in his left hand that he underwent surgery for today and potentially could cost him games as his is day to day.
Add to that: a handful of other QBs are on the IR or playing through serious injuries like dislocations, sprains, and strains, putting teams on thin margins if they face another setback.
The risk isn’t just in physical wear and tear, it’s in the ripple effects: disrupted game plans, retooled lineups, and suddenly fragile playoff hopes.
