Ottawa Senators 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 0

The Senators dominated Game 5, shutting out the Maple Leafs 4–0. Ottawa stifled Toronto putting the final stamp on the game by netting 3 third period goals with two of them being empty neters, narrowing the series to 3–2 in favor of the Maple Leafs.

Carolina Hurricanes 5, New Jersey Devils 4 (2OT)

In a thrilling double-overtime, Sebastian Aho's game-winning goal secured a 5–4 victory for the Hurricanes, eliminating the Devils 4-1 in the series and making Carolina the first team to advance to the next round.​

Vegas Golden Knights 3, Minnesota Wild 2 (OT)

For the second straight game regulation was not enough in this series. At 4:05 in overtime Brett Howden's goal finally ended it, lifting the Golden Knights to a 3–2 win over the Wild. Vegas now holds a 3–2 series lead with game 6 on Thursday back in Minnesota.​

Edmonton Oilers 3, Los Angeles Kings 1

The Oilers took a 3–2 series lead with a 3–1 victory over the Kings with Mattias Janmark's third-period goal proving to be the decisive mark in the contest.​ After dropping the first two games the OIlers have now flipped the script winning three straight to take their first lead in the series.
