Last Night’s NHL Playoff Highlights
Toronto Maple Leafs 4, Ottawa Senators 2
The Toronto Maple Leafs clinched their first-round series against the Ottawa Senators with a 4–2 victory in Game 6, winning the series 4–2. The Maple Leafs overcame a two-goal comeback attempt by the Senators, securing the series-winning goal with 5:39 left in the third period before adding another empty netter to advance to the second round.
Vegas Golden Knights 3, Minnesota Wild 2
The Vegas Golden Knights eliminated the Minnesota Wild in six games 4-2, winning Game 6 with a 3–2 score. Jack Eichel and Mark Stone led the Golden Knights with a goal, and an assist each. While goalie Adin Hill showed up in a big way, saving 29 of 31 shots propelling them into the second round where they will face the Edmonton Oilers.
Dallas Stars 4, Colorado Avalanche 7
The Dallas Stars final period collapse sent the series to a GAME 7 after Colorado netted 4 in the third and evened the series at 3-3. The Avalanche showed from the start though that they meant business totaling 46 shots on goal to the Stars 26. The decisive game will be tomorrow (Saturday) in Dallas.
Edmonton Oilers 6, Los Angeles Kings 4
The Edmonton Oilers advanced to the second round by defeating the Los Angeles Kings 4–2 in Game 6, winning the series 4–2. Connor Brown lead the Oilers with a goal and two assists while Trent Frederic, Zach Hyman, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all added a goal and assist of their own. This sets up a second-round matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Tonight’s Lone NHL Playoff Game – May 2, 2025
Winnipeg Jets @ St. Louis Blues – Game 6 – 5:00 PM PT
The Winnipeg Jets lead the series 3–2 against the St. Louis Blues. A win tonight in St. Louis would see the Jets advance to the NHL Playoff second round, while the Blues aim to defend their home ice again as the home team has taken every game this series.

Eastern Conference
(1) Toronto Maple Leafs vs. (3) Florida Panthers
The Panthers, who eliminated the Tampa Bay Lightning in five, will face an Atlantic Divisional familiar face in the Maple Leafs, who defeated the Ottawa Senators in six games.
(1) Washington Capitals vs. (2) Carolina Hurricanes
Both teams advanced after five-game series victories, setting up a matchup between the top 2 teams in the Metro Division this year.
Western Conference
Winner of Dallas Stars vs. Colorado Avalanche vs. Winner of Winnipeg Jets vs. St. Louis Blues
These last two series still need to be wrapped up to determine the final second-round matchup.
