Oilers Blank Knights & Canes Grab 3-1 Lead As Stars And Jets Battle In Tonight's NHL Playoff Action

Last Night’s Game 4 Highlights

Edmonton Oilers 3, Vegas Golden Knights 0 – Game 4

The Edmonton Oilers dominated the Vegas Golden Knights with a 3–0 shutout, taking a 3–1 series lead. Adam Henrique scored twice in the first period, and Evander Kane added a goal and an assist. Goaltender Stuart Skinner made 23 saves for the Oilers securing the postseason shutout. This puts the Oilers one win away from the Western Conference Final. While the Knights' Reilly Smith was quick to point out that the team won three straight in the first round after trailing Minnesota 2-1 and that it is still a possibility for a Vegas comeback, especially with two of the next three games if it goes that far back in Sin City.

Carolina Hurricanes 5, Washington Capitals 2 – Game 4

The Carolina Hurricanes pushed the Washington Capitals to the brink of elimination with a 5–2 victory. Goals from Shayne Gostisbehere, Seth Jarvis, Taylor Hall, Sean Walker, and Andrei Svechnikov powered the Hurricanes, who now lead the series 3–1. The Capitals managed to close the gap to 3–2 in the third period after Ovechkin put in a power play goal, but ultimately they still fell short in Carolina. Now with Game 5 back in Washington the Caps will look to get back to regular season form where they earned the East's top seed, while the Canes look to secure a little rest before the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tonight’s Sole NHL Playoff Game

Winnipeg Jets @ Dallas Stars – Game 4 – 5:00 PM PT

In the only NHL Playoff action tonight, the Dallas Stars host the Winnipeg Jets in Game 4, leading the series 2–1. Dallas aims to extend their lead before the series shifts back to Winnipeg as they are expected to get a boost with the return of defenseman Miro Heiskanen, who has been activated from long-term injured reserve after recovering from a knee injury sustained in January. Winnipeg on the other hand will look to even the series and snap an eight-game road playoff losing streak. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck will be under pressure to improve upon his recent performances, having allowed 34 goals in 10 playoff games this postseason.
