Oilers Dominate Game 3 In NHL Playoffs, Panthers Look To Close Out Canes

The 2025 NHL Playoffs are getting a knack for blowouts as the Western and Eastern Conference Finals unfold. Today, the Edmonton Oilers secured a lopsided victory in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers aim to sweep the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals tomorrow.

Oilers Take 2–1 NHL Playoff Series Lead Over Stars

The Edmonton Oilers bounced back in the Western Conference Finals, defeating the Dallas Stars 6–1 in Game 3 to take a series advantage at 2–1. Goaltender Stuart Skinner was instrumental for the Oilers, making 33 saves. Zach Hyman led the way with 2 goals and an assist, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had 3 assists of his own. Edmonton also had a number of 2 point scorers with Evander Kane contributing 2 assists, Connor McDavid adding 2 goals of his own, and Evan Bouchard tallying a goal and an assist.

The Stars offense pelted the net with shots but were let down by goaltender Jake Oettinger who let in 6 goals on 24 shots for a lowly .750 save%. This along with the Oilers' penalty kill posting perfect numbers neutralizing all 3 of Dallas's power-play opportunities, helped secure the victory. The series will stay in Edmonton for Game 4, where the Oilers will look to capitalize on home ice again when the puck drops Tuesday.

Panthers Aim to Sweep Hurricanes in Game 4

In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Florida Panthers dominated the Carolina Hurricanes again in Game 3, this time with the final score totaling 6–2. This leaves the Panthers with a commanding 3–0 series lead

The Panthers' goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky had another solid night, recording 23 saves to stifle the Hurricanes' offense. While on the other hand, the Hurricanes continue to struggle with goaltending, with both Frederik Andersen's and his replacement Pyotr Kochetkov not measuring up to standards.

Florida is just one win away from returning to the finals for a third straight year to defend their title from last year. Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow night in Florida, where the Hurricanes will fight to keep their season alive.
