Oilers Even West Finals As Panthers Push Hurricanes To Brink In NHL Playoffs

The 2025 NHL Playoffs continue to deliver action as the Western and Eastern Conference Finals unfold. Last night, the Edmonton Oilers secured a pivotal victory in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. While tonight, the Florida Panthers edged closer to moving on with a win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Oilers Blank Stars to Even NHL Playoff Series

The Edmonton Oilers bounced back in the Western Conference Finals, defeating the Dallas Stars 3–0 in Game 2 to level the series at 1–1. Goaltender Stuart Skinner was instrumental, making 25 saves to record his third shutout of the playoffs. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins led the offense with a goal and an assist, while star players Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid each contributed an assist. 

The Oilers' penalty kill was perfect, neutralizing all 3 of Dallas's power-play opportunities. The series now shifts to Edmonton for Game 3, where the Oilers will look to capitalize on home ice advantage when the puck drops tomorrow.

Panthers Take Commanding 3–0 Lead Over Hurricanes

In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Florida Panthers dominated the Carolina Hurricanes again this time with the final score totaling 6–2 in Game 3. This leaves the Panthers with a commanding 3–0 series lead. Their goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky had another solid night, recording a 23-saves to stifle the Hurricanes' offense.

On the other hand the Hurricanes continue to struggle with goaltending leaving many happy that they only gave now pulled goaltender Frederik Andersen a one year extension. As they will most likely look to find a new permanent solution to their goalie issues this postseason with replacement Pyotr Kochetkov not fairing any better.

The Panthers are now just one win away from returning to the finals for a 3rd straight year to defend their title from last year. Game 4 is scheduled for Monday night in Florida, where the Hurricanes will fight to keep their season alive.
