Stars Erupt in Third Period to Take Game 1 Over Oilers

The Dallas Stars rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 6–3 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final to take an early 1-0 series lead. Trailing 3–1 entering the third period, the Stars scored 5 unanswered goals, including 3 power-play tallies in a 5:26 span.

Dallas' goaltender Jake Oettinger made 24 saves, while Stuart Skinner only stopped 22 shots for the Oilers. This leaves the Stars in prime position as 68% of teams that win Game 1 of a best of 7 NHL playoff series have moved on. Game 2 is set for tomorrow in Dallas, where the Oilers will aim to even the series before it shifts to Edmonton.

Panthers Aim to Extend NHL Playoff Lead Against Hurricanes

The Florida Panthers already up 1-0 in the series, look to keep rolling on the road as they face the Carolina Hurricanes tonight in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Florida won Game 1 with a 5–2 victory, powered by Sergei Bobrovsky's 31-save performance. 

The Hurricanes will seek to bounce back on home ice, potentially making lineup adjustments to counter the Panthers' aggressive play. 

Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 PM PT. With both teams chasing the Stanley Cup Final, Game 2 could be a pivotal swing before the series heads south for a two game stint in Florida.
