The NHL Playoff Conference Finals Are Set

Last Night The Dallas Stars Advanced to Western Conference Final

The Dallas Stars secured their third consecutive trip to the Western Conference Final with a thrilling 2–1 overtime victory over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 6. Defenseman Thomas Harley netted the game-winning goal, propelling Dallas to a 4–2 series win

This concluded the Jets' nightmare goaltending this postseason with their number one guy who they gave a huge 7 year contract extension at the start of last season, Connor Hellebuyck playing to say in a nice way, inconsistent. Throughout the playoffs he did not look like the same player from the Presidents' Trophy winning Jets regular season. He now finishes the year 0-10 on the road (0-6 in Playoffs) allowing 39 goals in just 13 games resulting in a 6-7 record. The Stars now move on in the NHL Playoffs to face the Oilers.

Tonight’s NHL Playoff Game 7 – Florida Panthers 6 @ Toronto Maple Leafs 1

Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the Florida Panthers in a decisive Game 7. The Panthers closed out the series 4-3 with yet another embarrassing 6-1 win (their second of this series). Just as with their Game 5 victory all 6 goals were scored by different players showcasing their depth and versatility yet again. Florida now advances to the Eastern Conference Final for the 3rd straight year, hoping to make it 3 straight to the Finals, and will face the Carolina Hurricanes.

Conference Finals Preview

Eastern Conference Final: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers crushed the Maple Leafs 6–1 in Game 7 to punch their ticket to a third straight Eastern Conference Final. They’ll face the Carolina Hurricanes, who are rested and ready after only needing 5 Games to get through the Capitals in Round 2. Expect a tight, physical series with goaltending and grit at the forefront.

Western Conference Final: Dallas Stars vs. Edmonton Oilers

The Dallas Stars advanced with a 2–1 OT win in Game 6 over the Jets, making this their third straight trip to the Western Conference Final. Jake Oettinger stood tall in net, and Thomas Harley played hero in overtime to send Winnipeg packing. The Edmonton Oilers, meanwhile, took out the Vegas Golden Knights in just five games. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are dominating, but it’s been the depth that’s elevated this squad. These two teams know each other well, and this rematch of last year's Western Conference Final promises fireworks.
