Dodgers Go Back To Back: LA Wins World Series In Extra Inning Game 7 Thriller

A World Series to Remember
For the first time in a quarter century, baseball has back-to-back World Series champions. The Los Angeles Dodgers survived a dramatic 11-inning Game 7 to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays and capture their second straight championship, sealing a 5-4 victory in one of the most unforgettable Fall Classic finales in history.
The tension at Rogers Centre was off the charts. Both teams refused to go away, with Toronto’s offense striking first behind Bo Bichette's 3 run homer in the third inning, but the Dodgers’ resilience was once again on display as they chipped away at the deficit to send the game to extra innings for the second time this series.
Then, in the top of the 11th, the moment came. Will Smith delivered a go-ahead solo blast in what would be the eventual winning run. The Blue Jays had one last chance in the bottom half, but Yoshinobu Yamamoto came through once again for LA to secure the Dodgers’ second consecutive title.
This was only the third World Series in history to feature a Game 7 that extended at least 11 innings joining the 1924 and 1997 classics and the first repeat champion since the 2000 New York Yankees. It cements the Dodgers’ place as baseball’s modern dynasty and further validates the franchise’s bold roster-building approach.
Mookie Betts added another World Series ring to his trophy case and now sits with 4 (2 with the Red Sox and 2 with the Dodgers). While 18 year vet Clayton Kershaw heads into retirement at the very top with his last game ending in a championship.
For Toronto, it’s heartbreak after a remarkable season. The Jays came within inches of ending a 32-year title drought but ran into a team that’s rewriting October history. Still, with stars like Trey Yesavage, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Bo Bichette, Toronto’s future remains as bright as ever.
