Las Vegas Aces Win Big to Even Up the Semifinals Series
The Las Vegas Aces bounced back last night in dominant fashion in Game 2, crushing the Indiana Fever 90-68 to tie the semifinal series at 1–1. A’ja Wilson led the charge with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 blocks, while NaLyssa Smith dropped 18 points and 7 boards in one of her best postseason outings. The Aces took control early and never looked back, forcing 22 turnovers and holding the Fever to just 41% shooting. Meanwhile, Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell was limited after her 34-point explosion in Game 1—she scored only 13 in Game 2.
With that, Las Vegas resets for the road leg of the series as Game 3 is looming with the series now evened.
Game 3: Friday in Indianapolis
Game 3 hits Indianapolis on Friday, and the Aces will look to carry their momentum from Vegas into hostile territory. With the series tied 1–1, this one’s a critical swing game—win and you’re one step away from the Finals; lose and you’re in fight-or-die mode.
Las Vegas will lean on Wilson, Young, Gray, and the depth that carried them in Game 2. For Indiana, expect more pressure on picks and screens to try to slow the Aces’ motion offense. Also, with multiple injuries to their stars still looming, the Fever must continue find scoring elsewhere in either Mitchell, the bench, or pressuring the paint.
Home court advantage could matter if the game stays tight late, but if the Aces grab the lead heading into the fourth, crowd noise may not make a difference for Vegas.
