Las Vegas Aces Keep Rolling with Another Statement Victory

The Las Vegas Aces are on an absolute tear. On Wednesday night, they crushed the Phoenix Mercury 83–61 at home to secure their 9th straight win, tying the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx for the longest winning streak of the WNBA season.

A’ja Wilson once again put her stamp on the game, dropping 19 points and 13 rebounds controlling both ends of the floor. Dana Evans added 17 points of her own, with Nalyssa Smith, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray all put up 12 points keeping the Mercury defense guessing all night. While defensively, Las Vegas was suffocating, holding Phoenix to 31% shooting from the field and forcing 13 turnovers.

With the victory, Las Vegas improves to 23–14, continuing their late-season climb up the playoff standings (now 3rd). If they keep this energy, no one will want to draw them in the first round.

The Aces won’t have much time to celebrate. On Saturday, they’ll take on the Washington Mystics on the road in another key matchup as the season winds down.

The Mystics, despite their struggles this year, still bring athleticism and a 2-1 record vs the Aces this year. However, Vegas enters as clear favorites with momentum, chemistry, and Wilson playing at an all-time level.

With an Aces win, they’ll not only move to 10 straight victories but also break the tie for the season’s longest win streak and further cement themselves as one of, if not the most dangerous playoff team in the league.
