MLB All‑Star Weekend Draft: Futures Take the Stage

MLB All Star Weekend is nearly upon us. The Futures Game is set for first pitch on Saturday with top prospects showcasing their talent for scouts and fans alike. Then the Celebrity Soft Ball Game will wrap up Saturday night.

But the 2025 MLB Draft kicks off on Sunday, July 13. With storylines already being written about family dynasties and the next big stars it is set to be an interesting addition to the All Star Break. The first 3 rounds are set for night 1 with rounds 4-20 on Sunday.

Home Run Derby: Power on Display

Monday, July 14, brings the ultimate slugfest with participants including:

• Cal Raleigh (Mariners - MLB HR leader)

• Ronald Acuña Jr. (Braves - hometown favorite)

• James Wood (Nationals' phenom)

• Byron Buxton (Twins' explosive power)

• Junior Caminero (Rays' young bat speed)

• Brent Rooker (Athletics' consistent slugger)

• Oneil Cruz (Pirates’ longball threat)

• Jazz Chisholm Jr. (Yankees - the final spot)

All‑Star Game: Youth Meets Legacy

The 95th Midsummer Classic hits Atlanta on Tuesday, July 15. Fan-elected starters include Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Cal Raleigh, Francisco Lindor, and Ronald Acuña Jr. 

Rosters are deep with young talent: James Wood, Paul Skenes, Pete Crow‑Armstrong, Jacob Wilson and more headline stars.

While on the other end, the Dodgers saw long time pitcher and new 3000 strikeout club member Clayton Kershaw, named a “Legend Pick” by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred.
