OKC Takes Game 5 in NBA Finals
The Oklahoma City Thunder seized the initiative in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, rallying past the Indiana Pacers 120–109 tonight. Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander delivered 31 points and 10 assists, while Jalen Williams exploded for a playoff career-high 40 points—leading Oklahoma City to a crucial 3–2 series lead. The Thunder turned up the heat late, capitalizing on Indiana’s 22 turnovers, and holding "star" Tyrese Haliburton to only 4 points! The man that is expected to lead the team and is being paid just shy of a 1/4 Billion Dollars failed to produce yet again in a pivotal finals game. While some may contribute this to injury, he played 34 minutes and if he is "good enough" and willing to play on the court there is really no leg to stand on compared to if he were to sit and another player could be actually contributing to the team instead of a insignificant body on the court.
Home court advantage taken advantage of, OKC stands just one win away from its first championship with two chances to produce it.
Game 6 Preview – Pacers Forced to Rally at Home
All eyes turn to Indianapolis for Game 6 on Thursday, 5:30 PM PT. The Pacers, now trailing 2–3, face elimination and need to regroup quickly. Indiana would normally lean on Tyrese Haliburton, but his output has been less than desired lately for a player making $244.62 Million who had another "off-night" with just 4 points in Game 5. Pascal Sakam is the man the team will now look to produce, he poured in 28 in Game 5 while also putting in 20 or more points in the past 3 games.
The Thunder, love having superstar MVP Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander’s brilliance, but will also look for continued support from Jalen Williams, Alex Caruso, and Chet Holmgren, who have been key during critical stretches. Game 6 has all the makings of a desperate home game classic. Historically, the Game 5 winner of a tied series goes on to win the series around 74% of the time.
