Las Vegas Aces Fall to New York Liberty Amid Wilson Injury
The Las Vegas Aces dropped another battle 87–78 to the New York Liberty in Brooklyn. Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu was the standout, posting a near triple-double with 28 pts, 8 rebs, and 8 asts, powering New York to a win over the Aces.
Mirroring their physical style, the Liberty pulled away in the final minutes after the game was tied at 72 until there were only 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Despite keeping it close, the Aces couldn’t match New York's defense or clutch play and dropped to 9-10 on the season.
Worst news of all: A’ja Wilson exited in the second quarter with a right wrist injury and did not return. Before departing, the 3 time MVP managed just 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in 14 minutes
Vegas Highlights
Jackie Young led the team with 19 points
Dana Evans chipped in 16
Chelsea Gray and NaLyssa Smith added 11 apiece
Next Up: Aces vs. Mystics – Thursday Showdown
Las Vegas will stay on road for their next game Thursday vs the Washington Mystics. Here’s what to watch:
Aces' urgency: Bouncing back from the Liberty loss is key, especially with Wilson's injury status unclear.
Bench performance: With A’ja possibly sidelined, expect Young, Evans, Smith, and Gray to step up.
Defensive toughness: Las Vegas must shore up defensively — the Liberty exposed weaknesses in passing lanes and transition.
A victory for Vegas could restore confidence with 3 games still to play before the All-Star break.
