Thunder Strike First In West Finals As Knicks & Pacers Gear Up For Another NBA Playoff Clash

The 2025 NBA Playoffs tip off the third round as the Oklahoma City Thunder take an early lead in the Western Conference Finals. While the Eastern Conference Finals are set to tip off tomorrow in New York as the Knicks take on the Pacers.

Thunder Surge Past Timberwolves in Game 1

The Oklahoma City Thunder dominated the Minnesota Timberwolves 114–88 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals to go up 1-0 in the series. After trailing 48–44 at halftime, the Thunder erupted in the second half, outscoring the Timberwolves 70–40. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists after a slow first half start. The Thunder were able to seal the deal thank to their supporting cast with Jalen Williams contributing 19 points, Chet Holmgren 15, and Isaiah Hartenstein 12. They also capitalized on 17 Minnesota turnovers, while shooting 50% from the field and 52.4% from beyond the arc. 

The Timberwolves on the other hand only had two players score in the double digits, Julius Randle who led the Wolves with 28 points, and Anthony Edwards who added 18 points. This was on top of them shooting a lowly 34.9% from the field and an even lower 29.4% from three.

Game 2 is set for Thursday in OKC as the Thunder look to go up 2-0 in the series.

Knicks and Pacers Set for Another NBA Playoff Showdown

The Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers are set to begin tomorrow, May 21, at 5:00 PM PT at Madison Square Garden. This marks the Knicks' first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000. The Pacers however, who advanced after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers, were in this position just last year. The series rekindles a historic rivalry, with both teams eager to make their mark.
