Opening Matchups in Oklahoma City
Texas Tech vs Mississippi State
Texas Tech Red Raiders softball enters with one of the most explosive offenses left in the field, while Mississippi State Bulldogs softball arrives riding momentum after ending Oklahoma’s long run and reaching the event for the first time in program history.
Texas vs Tennessee
Texas Longhorns softball returns as defending national champions, but Tennessee Lady Volunteers softball brings elite pitching and one of the toughest staffs remaining in the bracket.
Alabama vs UCLA
Alabama Crimson Tide softball continues to look battle tested after surviving the SEC gauntlet, while UCLA Bruins softball once again returns to the biggest stage carrying championship expectations and one of the sport’s most historic resumes.
Nebraska vs Arkansas
Nebraska Cornhuskers softball enters red hot with a winning streak and dominant all around play, while Arkansas Razorbacks softball continues proving it can win pressure packed games against elite competition.
Oklahoma City Is About To Be Wild For The WCWS
This year’s field has a little bit of everything:
Traditional powerhouse programs
First time appearances
Dominant pitching staffs
Elite offenses capable of changing games instantly
The biggest storyline might be the absence of Oklahoma Sooners softball after Mississippi State snapped their long streak of appearances, opening the door for a new program to take over the sport’s spotlight.
With the final eight officially locked in, the stage is set for another week of chaos, clutch moments, and championship softball in Oklahoma City.
