World Series Game 5 Rookie Trey Yesavage Strikes Out 12 As Blue Jays Take 3–2 Series Lead

World Series Game 5: Toronto’s Trey Yesavage Dominates as Blue Jays Move One Win Away

The series Series shifted back to the Great White North in a big way or at least it will on Friday, as Toronto’s rookie sensation Trey Yesavage made history under the Los Angeles lights. The Blue Jays took down the Dodgers 6–1 in the World Series Game 5, seizing a 3–2 series lead and putting themselves one win away from their first championship since 1993.

Yesavage was simply electric. The 22-year-old right-hander fanned 12 Dodgers, setting a World Series rookie record for strikeouts in a single game. He attacked the zone with fearless precision, mixing a holster of pitches that danced around 98 mph all night. Meanwhile, Los Angeles couldn’t find an answer and the rookie stole the show.

The whole Blue Jays team helped offensively with 8 different players getting a hit and 5 of them recording RBIs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was among them as he added the second half of back to back home runs in the first inning.

Game 6 Preview: Toronto Looks to Close It Out at Home

Friday night in Toronto could be historic. The Blue Jays return to Rogers Centre holding a 3–2 series advantage, with a chance to win their first World Series title in 32 years. The crowd is expected to be deafening, the atmosphere electric, and the stakes sky-high.

Toronto will send Kevin Gausman to the mound to try to finish the job, while the Dodgers counter with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, hoping to force a decisive Game 7. If the Jays can ride the same momentum from Yesavage’s masterpiece, they could finally deliver the moment fans have waited three decades for.

Win or lose, this series has had everything record-setting pitching, walk-offs, marathon innings, and unforgettable storylines. But come Friday, Toronto has the chance to etch its name in baseball history once again.
