Panthers Make History With Another NHL Championship

Panthers Clinch Historic Back‑to‑Back NHL Championships

The Florida Panthers sealed their place in NHL history with a commanding 5–1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of the 2025 NHL Finals to win another NHL Championship.

From the opening faceoff, the Panthers looked like a team on a mission. Sam Reinhart stole the show, scoring four goals on four shots—the first player to net four in a finals game since 1957. His third-period hat trick sent the home crowd in Sunrise into a frenzy while Matthew Tkachuk also netted a goal in the first period for Florida.

On the defensive end, Sergei Bobrovsky was rock-solid once again, stopping 28 of 29 shots and capping off a brilliant postseason performance. Bobrovsky finishes the playoffs with a .914 save percentage, helping Florida cruise through the playoffs with confidence and grit.

The Oilers, seemed to simply ran out of steam especially when it came to their goaltending woes as Stuart Skinner gave up 3 goals on 23 shots. This was as he reclaimed the starting job after being benched in Game 4.

With this dominant win, the Panthers join an elite group—as they are only the third team this century to repeat as NHL champs. This means the drought continues with no Canadian team winning the Cup since 1993.
